Bulgarian consumer price index rose to 0.7 percent in January, from 0.5 percent a month earlier, the National Statistical Institute reported on Monday. The prices slowed to 0.5 percent year on year, the data showed.

Food prices in January climbed 0.9 percent on a monthly basis with the biggest changes registered in fruit and vegetables. Cucumbers price increased 31.2 percent and tomato price added 16.2 percent. On the other hand was the price of citrus - it was down 3.2 percent.

The prices of cloths and shoes were up 1.9 percent, the NSI reported.
