The Bulgarian Industrial Association, along with the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, conducted a National Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Construction Sector today on 4 May 2010. The seminar was organized within an international project for Reconstructing In the Building Industry (RIBI), funded by the European Commission Programme on Industrial Relations and Social Dialogue. Employers' and Construction Federations from Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia have been partners to the project. 

Lecturers from the Federation of German Industry (BDI) presented the requirements and energy efficiency status in Germany's civil construction.   

A representative of the Ministry of Environment and Water presented a legal framework for construction waste recycling in Bulgaria.

Participants from various construction companies and organizations in Bulgaria were interested in the funding procedures of projects for energy-efficient buildings construction, as well as in the sanitation requirements in Germany.  

Tomorrow, 5 May 2010, a meeting of the partners in the RIBI Project shall take place in BIA. They shall discuss the recently held national seminars and plan future activities, including a construction sector publication.
