MERKEL RECEIVES STARA PLANINA ORDER
"I comprehend the handing of this order as a commission of our two governments to cooperate even more actively. Bulgaria is following a very good road to its development as an EU member state," German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated minutes after she was awarded with Stara Planina order with ribbon by Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov. PM Boyko Borissov and members of the cabinet attended the ceremony in the president's office.
Bulgaria's Head of State pointed out that the high decoration is awarded to Mrs. Merkel for her contribution to the development of Bulgarian-German relations and for Germany's aid in reaching a fair solution on the case with Bulgarian nurses in Libya. To the words of president Parvanov Bulgaria's efforts in integrating as EU full member are a priority of the incumbent cabinet, too.
After the ceremony the guests toasted Angela Merkel. PM Boyko Borissov and President Parvanov clinked glasses.
