Imports from EU have gone up as well by 3.7%

During the first half of 2010, Bulgaria's export rates to EU countries have gone up by 20.2 per cent year-on-year, totaling almost 5 billion euro, Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute has announced.

Bulgaria's imports from EU countries for the first seven months of this year have gone up by 3.7 per cent year-on-year, and are estimated at 5.9 billion euro. Bulgaria's main export EU partners are Italy, Germany, Greece, and Romania, and the country's main import EU partners are Portugal, Romania, Malta and Lithuania.

The National Statistical Institute has also reported a 48-percent increase in Bulgaria's export to non-EU countries, amounting to a total of 3.7 billion euro. The country's major non-EU export partners are Turkey, Serbia, Russia, Macedonia, Singapore, China, and USA. The import of goods from non-EU countries has risen by 10 per cent, totaling 4.8 billion euro, with Israel, Egypt, Albania and Peru being the chief importers of goods and services.
