BUSINESSEUROPE COUNCIL OF PRESIDENTS MEETING SHALL TAKE PLACE ON 2-3 DECEMBER 2010

A regular Council of Presidents Meeting shall be held on 2-3 December 2010 in Brussels.

Some of the main topics which shall be put for discussion during the meeting are European Union competitiveness, climate change, and BUSINESSEUROPE's message to the European Council on 16-17 December. The agenda envisages that these crucial topics be dwelled upon in depth. A report on the negotiations course in the Cancun Meeting shall be delivered and open for discussion. In particular, the forum shall elaborate on the policies which EU should pursue in order to enhance its competitiveness and what is to be expected by the G20 to improve global economic governance and ensure fair global competition.

The meeting shall be attended by Mr. Yves Leterme, Prime Minister of Belgium, who will deliver a speech. All participants shall meet with Mr. Michel Barnier, Commissioner for Internal Market and Services on 2 December 2010.

There will also be a cocktail offered by His Majesty King Albert II of the Belgians and attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium on the first day of the meeting.
