MEP JENSEN AT EU BUDGET TASK FORCE
On 9 February 2011, Anne E. Jensen, Vice-President of the European Parliament SURE Committee, participated in a meeting of BUSINESSUROPE’s EU budget task. Ms Jensen presented the activities of the SURE Committee on the future on the next multi-annual financial framework. Philippe de Buck, Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE, presented the work being developed by the task force. Mr de Buck reiterated the importance of the EU budget for the business community but emphasised the need for reform to create greater economic leverage and value added through a refocused expenditure structure, greater recourse to market financing, more effective management and a competitive and stable financing system.
