BULGARIA EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR BOURGAS–ALEXANDROUPOLIS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
Bulgaria's Environment Ministry will extend by a further two months the deadline by which the investor of the Bourgas–Alexandroupolis oil pipeline, Trans Balkan Pipeline, should complete its report on the environmental impact assessment of the project, Minister Nona Karadjova said on March 30 2011.
The investor was obliged to submit the report by the end of February 2011, while the Environment Ministry was expected to give its positive or negative opinion about the project by the end of March.
"We expect the investor to finally complete the report with an alternative option about unloading the oil at seaports," Karadjova said.
Trans Balkan Pipeline is 51 per cent-owned by three Russian companies, Rosneft, Transneft and Gazprom Neft, while the remainder is split between Greece and Bulgaria.
