BULGARIA SELLS 35M EURO IN TREASURY NOTES
Bulgaria's Finance Ministry sold 35 million euro in euro-denominated treasury notes in an auction held on May 16 2011, with dealers placing bids worth 118 million euro, the ministry said in a statement.
The debt, which matures in five years, was sold at an average weighted annual yield of 4.10 per cent, below the 4.16 per cent in the previous auction in March 2011, when the ministry sold 25 million euro of the paper.
"Amid a highly volatile environment on the sovereign debt markets in Europe and the high government debt, the resolute political measures implemented by the Bulgarian Government to cut Budget deficit were interpreted positively by investors," according to the statement.
