BULGARIA'S KOZLODUY NUKE PLANT SEEKS CONSULTANT FOR STEAM FACILITY
Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant is seeking a consultant on the construction of a steam facility to prepare the environmental impact assessment of the project, according to an invitation for expressions of interest published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Candidates are required to submit their offer by August 5 2011, while the start date for the one-year contract is August 1 2012.
The tender will be carried out in accordance with the rules of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as the project will be financed by the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), which is managed by the bank.
The projects envisions the construction of a 110 MW heat generation plant for steam, which will provide heat to the plant itself. If units 5 and 6 are simultaneously shutdown, the unit will ensure the supply of steam to the reactors.
The facility will be operated with natural gas and diesel fuel and will generate up to 240 tons of steam an hour.
Eligible countries for the project are EU member states, Switzerland and countries in which EBRD is active.
