Raiffeisen Leasing Bulgaria, part of Austrian bank holding Raiffeisen International, has signed an agreement to borrow a 20 million euro credit line from Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), the company said on August 4 2011.

The finance will be used for funding leasing deals with local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The funds will be granted to Bulgarian companies to purchase machinery and equipment, as well as medical equipment, IT technologies, equipment for shops, warehouses and manufacturing, specialised production lines, construction and heavy machinery and vehicles.

The credit line also aims to back the creation of new jobs at SMEs in the country.

The credit line is Raiffeisen Leasing's second loan from CEB and the fourth by Raiffeisen's Bulgarian subsidiaries. The total amount secured by the group from CEB now stands at 70 million euro
