BIA POSITION ON CHANGES IN TARIFF FOR CHARGES FOR WATER USE
BIA sent to the Minister Nona Karadzhova position on the project of Decree of change of tariff charges for water abstraction, for use of water and pollution. In some cases the new charges are more than 8 times higher than levels in 2001, for example, fees for industrial water supply from underground sources is increased8.75 times.
BIA insists on changing the fees to be accompanied by an impact assessment on business, as many companies have invested significant resources to reduce and efficient use of water resources, development of closed loops, as well as in water alone.
BIA proposes to continue the dialogue with the business of changing the project and adopt a working document that contributes to effective water management in Bulgaria.
