April 25 and 26 2007 was held the 435th Plenary Session of EESC in the presence of Mr. Engelbert Lütke Daldrup, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Construction and Urban Development, representing the Presidency-in-office of the Council.
The issues that were discussed:
Freight Transport Logistics - sustainable mobility;
Road infrastructure safety management – Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on road infrastructure safety management;
A common EU ports policy;
Thematic Strategy for soil protection Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for the protection of soil and amending Directive 2004/35/EC;
Transport in urban and metropolitan areas (exploratory opinion requested by the German presidency);
Short sea shipping (mid-term review).
