The monthly inflation rate was 0.8%, while the annual inflation rate was 4.5%. The inflation rate is measured by the CPI, with monthly inflation referring to July 2026 compared to the previous month, and the annual inflation is for July 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year.

In July 2026, compared to the previous month, the highest increase in the prices was registered in the following groups: ‘Recreation, sport and culture’ (11.6%), ‘Restaurants and accommodation services’ (2.3%) and ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ (2.0%). The highest decrease in the prices was recorded in the following groups: ‘Clothing and footwear’ (-2.9%), ‘Insurance and financial services’ (-1.8%) and ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ (-1.0%).  

Consumer Price Index (CPI)

In July 2026, the monthly inflation rate, measured by CPI, was 0.8% and the annual inflation rate in July 2026, compared to July 2025, was 4.5%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2026 compared to December 2025) was 3.7%.

The annual average inflation rate for the period August 2025 - July 2026 compared to the period August 2024 - July 2025 was 5.1%.

Monthly inflation

In terms of CPI, in July 2026, the prices of goods and services increased in the following consumer groups:

  • ‘Recreation, sport and culture’ - an increase of 11.6%;
  • ‘Restaurants and accommodation services’ - an increase of 2.3%;
  • ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ - an increase of 2.0%;
  • ‘Education services’ - an increase of 0.5%;
  • ‘Information and communication’ - an increase of 0.2%;
  • ‘Health’ - an increase of 0.2%;
  • ‘Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance’ - an increase of 0.1%;
  • ‘Alcoholic beverages, tobacco’ - an increase of 0.1%. 

The prices of goods and services decreased in the following consumer groups:

  • ‘Clothing and footwear’ - a decrease of 2.9%;
  • ‘Insurance and financial services’ - a decrease of 1.8%;
  • ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ - a decrease of 1.0%;
  • ‘Transport’ - a decrease of 0.7%;
  • ‘Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services’ - a decrease of 0.1%. 

Accumulated inflation

The accumulated inflation, measured by CPI, for the last three years (July 2026 compared to July 2023) was 12.7% and for the last five years (July 2026 compared to July 2021) was 43.4%. 

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP)

In July 2026, the monthly inflation rate, measured by HICP, was 0.6% and the annual inflation rate in July 2026 compared to July 2025 was 4.4%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (July 2026 compared to December 2025) was 4.1%.

The annual average inflation rate for the period August 2025 - July 2026 compared to the period August 2024 - July 2025 was 4.0%.

In terms of HICP, in July 2026, the prices of goods and services increased in the following consumer groups:

  • ‘Restaurants and accommodation services’ - an increase of 4.6%;
  • ‘Recreation, sport and culture’ - an increase of 3.8%;
  • ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ - an increase of 1.6%;
  • ‘Education services’ - an increase of 0.5%;
  • ‘Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance’ - an increase of 0.2%;
  • ‘Health’ - an increase of 0.2%;
  • ‘Alcoholic beverages, tobacco’ - an increase of 0.1%;
  • ‘Transport’ - an increase of 0.1%;
  • ‘Information and communication’ - an increase of 0.1%.

The prices of goods and services decreased in the following consumer groups:

  • ‘Clothing and footwear’ - a decrease of 2.9%;
  • ‘Insurance and financial services’ - a decrease of 1.1%;
  • ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ - a decrease of 0.8%;
  • ‘Personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services’ - a decrease of 0.1%. 

Accumulated inflation

The accumulated inflation, measured by HICP, for the last three years (July 2026 compared to July 2023) was 10.9% and for the last five years (July 2026 compared to July 2021) was 37.4%. 

Price Index of a Small Basket (PISB)

In July 2026, the monthly rate, measured by PISB, was -0.4% and the annual rate in July 2026, compared to July 2025, was 2.0%.

In July 2026, compared to the previous month, the prices of goods and services in the small basket for the 20% of households with the lowest income changed as follows:

  • ‘Food products’ - a decrease of 1.4%;
  • ‘Non-food products’ - a decrease of 0.7%;
  • ‘Services’ - an increase of 2.2%.
