Monthly changes
In May 2026, compared with April 2026, production declined by 0.8% in the manufacturing industry, while increases were recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (9.2%) and in the mining and quarrying industry (1.7%).
Within manufacturing, the most significant monthly decreases were recorded in:
- manufacture of textiles and textile products, excluding apparel (-8.8%);
- printing and reproduction of recorded media (-7.5%);
- manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (-6.9%).
The highest monthly increases in manufacturing were registered in:
- manufacture of electrical equipment (+7.2%);
- manufacture of wood and wood products, excluding furniture (+6.8%);
- manufacture of other transport equipment, excluding motor vehicles (+6.5%).
Annual changes
On an annual basis, the calendar-adjusted Industrial Production Index fell by 33.0% in the mining and quarrying industry and by 3.9% in manufacturing, while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply recorded an increase of 8.8%.
Within manufacturing, the largest year-on-year declines were observed in:
- manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-32.1%);
- tanning and dressing of leather; manufacture of luggage, handbags, saddlery and harness; dressing and dyeing of fur; manufacture of footwear (-31.8%);
- manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (-23.7%).
The strongest annual growth was recorded in:
- manufacture of electrical equipment (+23.8%);
- manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (+15.7%).
