Lower prices were observed in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 1.0%, while an increase was registered in the mining and quarrying industry - by 1.1%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 0.1%.
In the manufacturing industry, price increases were registered in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products - by 2.4%, printing and reproduction of recorded media - by 2.0%, and manufacture of textiles - by 1.3%. Price decreases were reported in the manufacture of wearing apparel - by 0.9%, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. - by 0.6%, and manufacture of electrical equipment - by 0.3%.
The Total Producer Price Index in Industry in May 2026 was 17.5% above the level of May 2025. A rise was registered in the mining and quarrying industry - by 61.9%, in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 21.5%, as well as in the manufacturing industry - by 8.9%.
In the manufacturing industry, higher prices were observed in: manufacture of basic metals - by 21.5%, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products - by 14.8%, and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - by 11.0%. Price decreases were reported in: manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. - by 1.4%, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - by 0.6%, and manufacture of other transport equipment - by 0.2%.
Producer Price Indices on the Domestic Market
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market increased by 0.4% in May 2026 compared to April 2026. Prices rose in the mining and quarrying industry - by 3.2%, and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 0.8%, while a decrease was registered in the manufacturing industry - by 0.2%.
In the manufacturing industry, lower prices were recorded in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. - by 0.9%, manufacture of wearing apparel - by 0.7%, and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products - by 0.3%. Price increases were observed in the manufacture of basic metals - by 4.1%, other manufacturing - by 3.9%, and manufacture of rubber and plastic products - by 2.7%.
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market increased by 19.3% compared to May 2025. Prices rose in the mining and quarrying industry - by 27.8%, in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 19.1%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 8.5%.
In May 2026, higher prices in the manufacturing industry compared to May 2025 were registered in: manufacture of basic metals - by 18.1%, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products - by 17.7%, and manufacture of tobacco products - by 10.0%. Lower prices were recorded in the manufacture of leather and related products - by 1.9%, manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials - by 1.4%, and manufacture of paper and paper products - by 1.0%.
