Trade in goods with the EU Member States - Intrastat, and foreign trade turnover of Bulgaria - preliminary data - November 2025
In the period January - November 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU decreased by 4.6% in comparison with the same period of 2024 and amounted to 49 606.3 million BGN. Main trade partners of Bulgaria were Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece and France, which accounted for 64.3% of the exports to the EU Member States.
In the exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, the most notable growth was recorded in the section ‘Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes’ (40.5%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Miscellaneous manufactured articles’ (14.3%).
In November 2025, the exports to the EU decreased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 4 690.4 million BGN.
The imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU in the period January - November 2025 increased by 4.0% in comparison with the same period of 2024 and amounted to 55 272.5 million BGN (at CIF prices). The largest amounts were reported for the goods imported from Germany, Romania, Greece, Italy and Poland.
In the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU Member States, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, the largest growth was recorded in the section ‘Beverages and tobacco’ (24.2%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Crude materials, inedible (except fuel)‘ (5.5%).
In November 2025, the imports from the EU grew by 0.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and reached 5 552.5 million BGN.
The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (export FOB - import CIF) with the EU in the period January - November 2025 was negative and added up to 5 666.2 million BGN.
Trade in goods with third countries - Extrastat - preliminary data - December 2025
In 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 2.2% in comparison with 2024 and added up to 30 020.0 million BGN. The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Türkiye, the United States, Serbia, the Republic of North Macedonia, China, Algeria and the United Kingdom, which accounted for 49.0% of the exports to non-EU countries.
In December 2025, the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 3.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2 468.2 million BGN.
In the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, the most notable growth was recorded in the section ‘Miscellaneous manufactured articles’ (46.1%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Mineral fuel, lubricants and related materials’ (39.5%).
The imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries in 2025 increased by 8.5% in comparison with 2024 and added up to 45 119.5 million BGN (at CIF prices). The largest amounts were reported for the goods imported from Türkiye, China, Serbia and the United States.
In December 2025, the imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries increased by 30.7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 4 432.4 million BGN.
In the imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, the largest growth was recorded in the section ‘Machinery and transport equipment’ (30.6%). The most notable fall was reported in the section ‘Animal and vegetable oils, fats and waxes’ (33.0%).
The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (exports FOB - imports CIF) with third countries in 2025 was negative and added up to 15 099.5 million BGN.

TRADE IN GOODS OF BULGARIA WITH THIRD COUNTRIES AND THE EU - TOTAL
In 2025, the total value of all the goods exported from Bulgaria amounted to 83 894.5 million BGN, which was 3.2% less than the previous year.
In December 2025, the total exports of goods added up to 6 736.4 million BGN and increased by 2.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
The total value of all the goods imported into the country in 2025 amounted to 105 605.1 million BGN (at CIF prices), or 6.1% more than in 2024.
In December 2025, the total imports of goods increased by 17.3% compared to the same month of the previous year and added up to 9 645.5 million BGN.
The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB - imports CIF) was negative in 2025 and amounted to 21 710.6 million BGN.
