Construction sees 7% growth
The Industrial Production Index increased by 0.8% in April 2025 compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted. In comparison with April 2024, a decrease of 10.4% was registered in the calendar-adjusted Industrial Production Index.
Monthly changes
In April 2025, compared to the previous month, an increase was seen in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 54.0%, while a decline was registered in the manufacturing - by 1.8% and in the mining and quarrying industry - by 1.6%.
In the manufacturing a decrease was reported in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - by 16.8%, in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products - by 8.2%, and in the manufacture of furniture - by 7.8%.
More significant rise in the manufacturing was reported in the manufacture of other transport equipment - by 27.7%, in the manufacture of tobacco products - by 17.0%, and in the other manufacturing - by 16.3%.
Annual changes
On an annual basis, a decrease of the Industrial Production Index was observed in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 18.7%, in the manufacturing - by 7.0%, and in the mining and quarrying industry - by 3.9%.
In the manufacturing, a significant decline in production, compared to the same month of the previous year, was seen in the manufacture of basic metals - by 38.6%, and in the manufacture of paper and paper products - by 24.1%.
A rise was reported in the manufacture of tobacco products - by 49.8%, and in the manufacture of electrical equipment - by 20.3%.
Construction production indices - April 2025
In April 2025, the production index in the ‘Construction’ section decreased by 0.7% compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted. The calendar-adjusted data showed a rise of 7.0% in the construction production compared to the same month of 2024.
In April 2025, compared to the previous month, a decrease was observed in the production of civil engineering - by 1.9%, as well as in the specialized construction activities - by 1.1%. An increase was seen in the building construction - by 0.6%. In April 2025, compared to the same month of 2024, a rise of the production was registered in the specialized construction activities - by 10.8%, in the civil engineering - by 8.1%, and in the construction of buildings - by 3.1%.
