Welcoming today’s publication of the Skills and Talent Mobility package, BusinessEurope Director General Markus J. Beyrer said:
“The proposed Talent Pool can be a game changer in making Europe a more attractive destination for the needed skilled workers from third countries around the world. Helping to match skilled third country nationals with the most pressing shortage occupations is an important approach.
We also welcome the Commission’s efforts to improve the recognition of qualifications and skills obtained outside the EU. This would allow us to better benefit from the potential of incoming third country nationals, as well as those already in the EU who could make a more valuable contribution to our labour markets.
Employers are essential actors in the success of an EU Talent Pool. It is vital that they are closely involved in the discussions to come.”
