The Union of Poultry Breeders (member of BIA) opened on 19 September "Smart Poultry World". Official guests of the event were the Minister of Agriculture Kiril Vatev and the President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Dobri Mitrev. The organizers are Bul X and the Bulgarian Poultry Union.

The Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Poultry Union Ivaylo Galabov welcomed the guests.

"This event provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience. The unique format provides a forum for public dialogue between innovators, experts and poultry farmers from across the region. This conference started back in 1975. Since 1991 this old tradition has been continued by the Bulgarian Poultry Union. Now, in partnership with Bull X and Inter Expo Center Sofia, we hope to put Sofia on the European poultry map and Smart Poultry World will attract more and more interest," said Ivaylo Galabov in his address to the participants of the event.

Dobri Mitrev, the President of BIA, also welcomed the poultry sector.

"It is a great honour for me to be again, this year, a guest of the international exhibition. I am extremely happy that there are organizations like the Bulgarian Poultry Union that care and work for the development of their sector. I am impressed by the topics that are included in the conference programme. Discussing new technologies and innovations can build on the opportunities for the development of the sector," said Mitrev.

The invited speakers are experts with extensive experience and international reputation. The exhibition will be located on an area of 2500 sq. m. There are 44 stands, including several world leaders in the fields of technological equipment, energy efficiency, nutrition, healthcare and genetics.

The event has participants from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Turkey and others.

The aim of Smart Poultry World is to accelerate the digital transformation of the poultry industry through new technologies that improve working conditions and increase productivity levels, sustainability, animal health and food quality.
