An e-learning platform in the field of digital skills was created by experts from the Bulgarian Industrial Association in cooperation with Contipso Learning. It offers 36 courses divided into two categories - Specific Digital Skills and Sectoral Basic Skills in 16 economic sectors.
The courses are aimed precisely at those working in these 16 economic sectors, Tomcho Tomov, Director of the Competence Assessment Centre at BIA, told Radio Sofia.
"These are sectors in different areas - industry, tourism, trade, services. It is aimed at both professionals and people who are not yet sufficiently qualified in digital skills. The platform is available online. Registration is all that is needed," added Tomov.
He explained that a course takes on average between 1 and 3 hours, with a test at the end to assess the knowledge gained, after which an automatic online certificate is obtained if the course is passed successfully.
In Tomcho Tomov's words, there is almost no field where digital skills are not needed.
Only 19% of the workforce meet the required level of digital competence for their job, according to an analysis of digital skills needs in 16 economic sectors. Over 90% of jobs require specific types of digital skills.
