The trade representation at the US Embassy in Bulgaria and the Regional Industrial Association in Shumen organized a meeting with businesses from the region and presented the opportunities for partnerships with companies from the United States.
The forum was hosted by the Shumen Municipality and mayor Lybomir Hristov.
Lybomir Hristov greeted the participants. In his address to them, he recalled that there are enterprises in the region that already have contacts and experience in doing business in the States, and he hopes that today's meeting will provoke the interest of other entrepreneurs as well.
Earlier, he invited the guests to see the Industrial Park and together with the executive director Nikolay Tonchev shared that they would be happy if a second investor from the States showed interest in developing business in Shumen. The regional governor, Prof. Hristo Hristov, wished that after this meeting, real cooperation between the two countries would develop for the completion of the Industrial Park. The meeting was attended by representatives of business, the Regional Industrial Association, the regional and municipal administration.
Programs of interest to companies were discussed during the event. Ms. Melissa Marszalek presented the SelectUSA program, which offers assistance at the federal and state levels for easier access for foreign businesses to the United States, for contacts with American companies, as well as for services related to the domestic market, the legal system, the benefits offered from the different states etc. The program supports foreign companies that want to expand their operations in the US or those that are still planning to enter the US market.
