New increase in energy prices - we will pay more for gas than on Friday, and after the fall of the moratorium come higher bills for heating and water. The EWRC indicated a price of BGN 128 per megawatt-hour from April 1, but specified that we can pay even more.

Energy expert Vasko Nachev points out that what is happening in Ukraine predetermines the rise in prices. "I expect a 15% increase in natural gas. This will lead to an increase in the price of heat by about 30%. There is no reason for a serious increase in electricity until July 1," he said. He clarified that it is very difficult to import gas from Turkey. "The demand for liquefied gas is much higher than the supply, so it will be very difficult to meet," Nachev predicted.

For his part, Shteryo Nozharov from BIA said that no shock increase in electricity prices is expected after the lifting of the moratorium until the summer. "The heating season is coming to an end, but we will have the opportunity to diversify with the new gas connections from September. For the new heating season we will be able to rely on various sources, which will lower prices." For him, the increase in the price of natural gas will be up to 17%. "A connection with Israel is expected. There is a possibility for gas from Azerbaijan, as well as liquefied from the United States," he explained.
