Bulgaria and the furniture industry in our country came into the focus of two major European events. The initiative is of the Bulgarian Furniture Cluster and is implemented under the project "Innovative together". The Bulgarian participation in the events HiDesign in the Spanish capital Madrid and HOTEC EU in the Portuguese city of Vilamoura aims to present the capacity and quality of the Bulgarian furniture industry.
The two events, which took place at the end of last year, are of the business-to-business type and bring together suppliers of furniture, equipment and accessories for the hotel industry and representatives of leading European and global hotel chains.
At both events, the representatives of the Cluster had the opportunity to present their design projects such as the development of a "smart desk" for the needs of modern students. Impressed by the skills of the designers from the Cluster, representatives of a German company commissioned the Bulgarian organization to create a design concept and develop fitness equipment built into the furniture that can be used at home and combine the comfort and aesthetic line of home furniture as well as preserve the functionality of fitness equipment. The design of the new product series is to be created and launched on the European markets.
The project "Innovative together" aims to promote the innovation of the Bulgarian Furniture Cluster, which brings together a wide range of Bulgarian furniture manufacturers, interior studios, project management companies and educational institutions. The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Program "Innovation and Competitiveness", procedure Development of innovation clusters.
