A lasting solution is being sought to change the rules of the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange.
The five nationally representative employers' organizations have raised the issue that compensation for non-household consumers should continue in April. This was commented by the President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Dobri Mitrev.
We have received an assurance from the government that in the coming days we will hold more meetings in which to clear this new mechanism for compensating all non-household consumers, Mitrev explained.
Mitrev pointed out that a lasting solution is being sought to change the rules of the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange.
"We are talking to the EWRC, the Ministry of Energy and the producers and traders of electricity to look for another mechanism, non-compensatory, which in the next year or two will provide businesses with predictability, security and relatively one price for this period," he said. Mitrev.
According to his words, this gives hope, not peace.
"At this point, we can't say we can rest easy because we don't know what will happen tomorrow."
He is convinced that if the Russia-Ukraine conflict ends sooner, it will affect natural gas prices.
"By May, when the next regulatory decision of the EWRC is, there may be a change in the forecast and it may be in a downward direction," Mitrev added.
