The government will buy grain worth BGN 1.1 billion, we expect an influx of Ukrainian refugees, legal changes will make it easier for businesses to build their own RES capacity

During a briefing after the cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Asen Vassilev was adamant that the moratorium on electricity, heating and water prices would not be extended after March 31st. "The regulator is currently preparing a price decision to come into force after the moratorium expires. This price decision, according to preliminary information, will not lead to an increase in electricity prices for households," Vassilev said.

In response to a journalist's question, the Deputy Prime Minister explained that the prices of heating are directly dependent on the price of natural gas, which has risen by 3%, which means that there should be no dramatic changes in the price of heating.

Compensation for business also remains until March 31. "We already have a new regulator. The new regulator is developing a new segment of the energy exchange, which will be between 12 and 18 months, where electricity can be provided stably at low prices so that businesses can buy. If the regulator fails to manage in time and there is a delay, then, as Mr. Nikolov said, we are in contact with the business, you can think about what to do," said Vassilev.
