The business approved the measure of BGN 40 per day for a refugee from Ukraine for the hoteliers who accommodate them.
The Chairman of the Tourism Commission Dr. Ilin Dimitrov, together with the Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov, participated in a working meeting with business in Varna. The forum discussed measures to support the tourism sector, opportunities for rapid and timely assistance to refugees from Ukraine and to facilitate their adaptation.
The issue of stimulating land transport, similar to the "35 euros" measure for air carriers, was raised by subsidizing bus transport and providing green corridors.
The main focus was on the new BGN 40 per day refugee program from Ukraine, which will be provided to hoteliers who have accommodated asylum seekers. The business expressed its satisfaction with the timely and working measure and expressed optimism that it will significantly help them in this difficult time for them - in the context of the pandemic, war and high electricity prices.
Among the topics discussed were ways to specifically help fleeing mothers with children by providing kindergartens and jobs for them.
Businesses also raised the issue of improving liaison and coordination between ministries and institutions.
Representatives of the tourism business discussed with Chairman Ilin Dimitrov and Minister Prodanov the unregulated supply of tourism services and all agreed on the position that the industry should be more transparent.
Questions were raised about the establishment of a tourist police and a guarantee fund.
