The Deputy Prime Minister is sending a trade representative to Bucharest on the border with Ukraine
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Industry Kornelia Ninova met with employers and discussed the consequences for the Bulgarian economy of sanctions against Russia, possible counter-sanctions and their consequences for Bulgaria.
Representatives of Bulgarian business have expressed concern that the war is hampering the region's supply of raw materials. If gas supplies are stopped, this will make Bulgarian goods more expensive and make them absolutely uncompetitive.
During the meeting, the danger of transport and logistics problems and non-fulfillment of contracts due to force majeure, as well as the continuation of energy compensation for April-June were discussed. Bulgarian companies have asked for support in resolving the problem of blocked vehicles at Ukraine's borders.
Employers said they needed labor and were ready to hire Ukrainian citizens. They expressed a desire to provide corridors for the import of metals and other raw materials from Russia and Ukraine, as well as the export of products.
