Minister Lorer and the Director General of the European Space Agency signed an Agreement on a European Cooperative State. This Agreement is a symbol of the growing interest and commitment of Bulgaria to continue its cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) and to provide conditions for achieving its increased ambitions for the development of its space industry and participation in ESA initiatives. This was stated by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Daniel Lorer, who together with the Director General of the European Space Agency Josef Aschbacher signed in Toulouse a new extended Agreement on a European Cooperative State between Bulgaria and the agency.

The agreement enables Bulgarian companies and research organizations to participate in selection procedures and implement their projects with space application. It envisages the implementation of a Plan for a European Cooperative State, which aims to increase the readiness of the Bulgarian space sector for full participation in ESA programs in the future full membership of our country in the agency.

ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher said that he was very pleased to sign the Agreement on Bulgaria as a European Cooperative State.

Minister Lorer pointed out that he expects the cooperation to be deepened by agreeing on more efficient and expanded opportunities for the implementation of projects of mutual interest in the field of applied research and high-tech products and services.
