Consumer Price Index (CPI)

The consumer price index for December 2021 compared to November 2021 is 100.9%, i.e. monthly inflation is 0.9%. The annual inflation for December 2021 compared to December 2020 is 7.8%.

The average annual inflation for the period January - December 2021 compared to the period January - December 2020 is 3.3%.

In December 2021, compared to the previous month, the prices of goods and services in consumer groups changed as follows:

  • food and non-alcoholic beverages - an increase of 1.4%;
  • alcoholic beverages and tobacco - an increase of 0.4%;
  • clothing and footwear - a decrease of 0.8%;
  • housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - an increase of 0.7%;
  • home furnishings, household appliances and accessories and routine maintenance of the home - an increase of 1.0%;
  • healthcare - increase by 0.1%;
  • transport - an increase of 0.7%;
  • messages - a decrease of 0.3%;
  • entertainment and culture - an increase of 4.7%;
  • education - prices remain at last month's level;
  • restaurants and hotels - an increase of 0.9%;
  • various goods and services - a decrease of 0.1%.

Harmonized Consumer Prices Index (HCPI)

The harmonized index of consumer prices for December 2021 compared to November 2021 is 100.8%, i.e. monthly inflation is 0.8%. The annual inflation for December 2021 compared to December 2020 is 6.6%.

The average annual inflation for the period January - December 2021 compared to the period January - December 2020 is 2.8%.

According to the HCPI in December 2021 compared to the previous month the prices of goods and services in consumer groups have changed as follows:

  • food products and non-alcoholic beverages - an increase of 1.3%;
  • alcoholic beverages and tobacco products - an increase of 0.3%;
  • clothing and footwear - a decrease of 0.8%;
  • housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels - an increase of 0.8%;
  • home furnishings, household appliances and accessories and routine maintenance of the home - an increase of 1.0%;
  • healthcare - increase by 0.1%;
  • transport - an increase of 1.1%;
  • messages - a decrease of 0.3%;
  • entertainment and culture - an increase of 1.3%;
  • education - prices remain at last month's level;
  • restaurants and hotels - an increase of 1.8%;
  • various goods and services - an increase of 0.1%.

Small Basket Price Index (SBPI)

The price index for the small basket for December 2021 compared to November 2021 is 100.9%, and since the beginning of the year (December 2021 compared to December 2020) is 107.4%.

In December 2021, the prices of goods and services from the small basket for the lowest 20% of households’ income changed compared to the previous month, as follows:

  • food products - an increase of 1.6%;
  • non-food products - an increase of 0.2%;
  • services - an increase of 0.1%.
