Today, the Council of Ministers allocated nearly BGN 2.6 million to finance activities under four national programs for the development of education. The funds are provided as additional transfers to the budgets of the municipalities for 2021.
Most of the funding - a little over BGN 1.7 million, is provided under the national program "Information and Communication Technologies in the system of preschool and school education". They will be divided into two types of activities. BGN 1.2 million are for the implementation of educational electronic resources, vocational training software and electronic diary. They will finance 1436 municipal schools, centers for special educational support and support for personal development in the school year 2021/2022.
Over BGN 2 million to support innovations and modernization of schools
The Council of Ministers approved an additional BGN 2,088,222 to support innovations in education and to modernize the material base of schools.
BGN 1,682,170 are allocated under the National Innovation in Action Program for popularization and multiplication of good innovations between educational institutions. Each innovative school concludes two contracts with other schools for mutual mobility.
160 schools with additional funds for training students in protected specialties
160 municipal schools will receive an additional BGN 718,449 for training students in protected specialties or in those where a shortage of staff is expected on the labor market. The funds are allocated for a total of 3749 eighth-graders who study in 187 classes. The money is calculated for the period from the beginning of the school year to the end of 2021.
