The Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) renewed the cooperation agreement between the two institutions, which they concluded in 2016. The new document was signed by BIA President Dobri Mitrev and UNWE Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov. The framework agreement aims at cooperation between BIA and its member companies, on the one hand, and UNWE, on the other, in order to support the successful implementation of the policies, goals and objectives of the Association and the University.
The Bulgarian Industrial Association is committed to:
- Periodically informs UNWE about current internship and job positions in BIA member companies that are suitable and / or interesting for students and graduates of UNWE.
- Assists in conducting internships for students from UNWE in member companies of BIA.
- Invites lecturers from UNWE, as lecturers, consultants and experts to participate in activities and events that are of interest to BIA in the areas specified in the Framework Agreement.
- Participates in organized presentations, lectures, meetings and other events by UNWE related to the activities of BIA and its member companies in the areas specified in the Framework Agreement.
The University of National and World Economy is committed to:
- Establishes an organization for successful implementation of the bilateral cooperation between BIA and the University of National and World Economy in the areas specified in the scope of the Framework Agreement.
- Periodically informs students and graduates of UNWE about current internships and jobs in member companies of BIA.
- Assists in the participation of students from the University of National and World Economy in internships in member companies of BIA.
- Invites representatives of the management and specialists from BIA and its member companies as lecturers and consultants to participate in activities and events that are of interest to UNWE in the areas specified in the Framework Agreement.
- Provides, if possible, halls for events organized by BIA, which are of mutual interest.
“For more than 41 years, the Bulgarian Industrial Association has been trying to be a reasonable voice in social dialogue. It is important for us as an employers’ organization to have educated young people. We believe that this should be a priority not only for the economy, but also for the overall development of the country. It is with great pleasure that I accept the fulfillment of the commitments made today. I believe that together we will look for the right incentives for young people to understand that education is really a value,” said the President of BIA when signing the document.
In front of the academic audience, Dobri Mitrev stressed that all members of BIA who develop their activities in the field of education are exempt from property contributions and membership in the BIA family is completely free for them.
Today’s agreement between BIA and UNWE is a natural continuation of joint work on the project “Joint integrated approach for modernization and digital transformation of education in priority professional areas of higher education through a partnership between TrU, UNWE, University of Ruse and BIA” .
