The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved the price of natural gas for November in the amount of 93,19 BGN/MWh. This is a decrease of 0,35 BGN/MWh compared to the current price for October, which is 94,54 BGN/MWh. The news was announced to journalists in the Council of Ministers by Deputy Prime Minister Galab Donev. The briefing was also attended by the Minister of Energy Andrey Zhivkov, the Chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Ivan Ivanov and the Executive Director of Bulgargaz Nikolay Pavlov.
The reduction to 93,19 BGN/MWh is possible due to the agreement reached between Bulgargaz and Gazprom Export for the provision of additional quantities of natural gas for November at a significantly lower price compared to the gas exchanges in Europe, Nikolay Pavlov announced. He pointed out that Bulgargaz has 15% more fuel in the gas storage in Chiren compared to the same period last year. Thus the deliveries for the Bulgarian consumers are guaranteed.
In early October, the public supplier Bulgargaz requested a rise in the price of natural gas to 124,76 BGN/MWh, and today, taking into account the reduction in the price of fuel for European gas hubs, it updated its proposal with a request for a price of 119,87 BGN/MWh.
Thus, in November, the price at which the public supplier will sell to its customers is about twice lower than that of European gas hubs.
