630 000 companies will be able to benefit from state aid, said Prime Minister Stefan Yanev
The cabinet will compensate non-domestic end users of electricity. A decision was made to compensate the business due to the high electricity prices. This was stated by the interim Prime Minister Stefan Yanev at a briefing in the Council of Ministers.
More than 630 thousand non-residential end customers will be entitled to state aid. The compensation will amount to BGN 110 per megawatt hour.
Initially, the amount of BGN 50 per megawatt-hour was discussed, which according to the companies is extremely insufficient. The aid will be granted automatically on the basis of a contract concluded between the Ministry of Energy and electricity traders.
The amount of compensation due will be calculated on the basis of the energy consumed in megawatt hours and the fixed support rate. The budget of the program amounts to a total of BGN 450 million.
The templates for these contracts will be prepared within 5 days and then we will start concluding them, said the Minister of Energy.
