The administrative data from the Employment Agency shows the registered unemployment rate in the country is declining and has now reached 5.7%. The values were similar around mid-May 2019 - the year with the lowest unemployment rate and the highest employment rate. Compared to April, the decline is by 0.4%. On an annual basis, the decrease is 3.3 percentage points.
186,047 people have registered as unemployed during the month - 14,370 people less than in April and 109,406 people or 37% less than a year earlier. 17,965 new people have registered at the labour offices - a decrease of 3,959 persons compared to the previous month and 13,513 less than May 2020. Another 512 people are job seekers, students, and retired people also registered with the Employment Agency during May 2021.
22,146 unemployed started work in May 2021.
