Following a 10 year tradition, the winners of the different categories of the BAIT Awards competition were awarded during an official ceremony. For the first time, the event was held in a virtual studio and was broadcast online.
Chair of the Jury and President of the Board of BAIT Ognyan Trayanov welcomed the guests and presented the special Certificate of Honor to Acad. Kiril Boyanov for his academic contribution to the development of information technology; Mr. Trayanov expressed his gratitude to the pioneers and used the ceremony opening as an occasion for reflection and self-confidence in those who follow in their footsteps.
This year the award for special contribution was announced by the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova, who declared President Rumen Radev's support for the IT sector and defined the BAIT Awards as the spotlight that focuses public attention on companies in the IT sector. "With your responsible attitude to the sector and its development with your guidance, you are another inspiration for the companies that want to progress in Bulgaria," Iliana Yotova expressed. Ph.D. eng. Nikolay Iliev, the first chairman of BAIT and honorary inventor was announced the winner of the award, under the sign of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of BAIT.

The category "Youth Award" award was given to Radostin Cholakov, MG "Acad. Kiril Popov ”, Plovdiv with the innovative project“ AzBuki.ML ”, aiming to make the practice of machine learning technologies for natural language processing easily accessible and widely adopted in the Bulgarian IT industry.
To encourage young people to seek career development in the field of information technologies, the nominated young people received training vouchers provided by ERP Academy as incentive prizes.
Georgi Germanov, a student from SPGE "John Atanasov", who teaches robotics, electronics, and 3D printing received the prize for the "Educational Award". In 2020, it implements projects by successfully applying practical classes in the classrooms for students from 1st to 7th grade.
The Journalist Contribution Award was given to journalist Maya Boycheva-Manolcheva, initiator and host of the ICTalks technology podcast - an arena for commenting on current topics in the world of technology with journalists, experts, scientists, industry organizations, IT company managers, visionaries.
The "Public Administration" award was handed to the DAEU project: "Development of public registers for budget and project control of e-government and a portal for access to resources for development of software systems for e-government".
For STARTUP prize was awarded to the company "Ondo Solutions", providing IT services and solutions for agriculture, for its developed high-tech system for automated control of the irrigation process, precision fertilization, climate control, and monitoring of the crops.
The award for Successful Bulgarian ICT product/service was awarded to Storpool Storage AD for developing software for distributed data storage in the cloud. In 2020, the company was included in the prestigious ranking "Deloitte Fast 50 Central Europe".
The winner in the category "Successful ICT project for the benefit of the Bulgarian economy", is Rabotosobni.bg EOOD for the eponymous social career platform, providing an opportunity to attract important social groups for the labor market.
The winners of the 10th edition of the competition received MultiTraining Gold cards on the basics of Agile practices provided by bTalks Agile; vouchers from Ciela Norma, for the value of which they can buy books in Ciela bookstores. Ardes Information Technologies (Ardes.bg) will provide the winners with electronic devices.
