According to the President of the Ruse Industrial Association Prof. Dr. eng. Krassimir Enimanev, the region has drastically slowed down in its economic development.
While the lag in the period 2007-2013 was 1: 7, it has now tripled and is currently 1:24, the expert commented in front of the camera of KIS 13 TV.
According to Prof. Enimanev, this is due to the elimination of Ruse as an important transport and energy center. However, he is adamant that the region has the potential to develop economically with the construction of enterprises that will place Ruse as an agro-industrial center.
Specifically, the educational system must produce staff to feed the industry, for the region to attract investments, Prof. Enimanev stated. Its geographical proximity to Romania is also an advantage that should be used, he added.
The economic lethargy leads to the depopulation of the region due to the lack of livelihood. According to the National Statistical Institute, in 4 years the population of the district has decreased by over 10,000 people.
