The exhibition "Bulgaria's Contribution to the Cultural and Historical Diversity of United Europe" was opened during the fifth meeting "Women in Business", organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burgas and the Regional Academic Center in Burgas. The participation was attended by Academician Stefan Vodenicharov - President of BAS 2012-2016 and current member of the Managing Board of BIA, Academician Hristo Tzvetanov - Institute of Polymers, BAS, Deputy Director of the Institute of Metal Science. The meeting, which took place in Grand Hotel and SPA "Primorez", was attended by representatives of business and science.
At the end of the meeting was opened the exhibition, which was prepared by the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and includes 22 posters. Some of them are arranged in the hall of "Peyo Yavorov" Regional Library on "Bulair" Street 10 and can be seen by the end of the month.
The exhibition includes documentary evidence of the activities of Bulgarian book and enlighteners, autobiographical and biographical documents, manuscripts of works, diaries, memoirs and memories of our scientists, state, public, cultural and military figures. The accent in the exhibition is the idea of united Europe - with documents and photographs from the rich archive of Academician Ivan Shishmanov, founder and first chair of the Bulgarian Section of the Pan-European Union. They convincingly say that Bulgaria has adopted the ideas of pan-Europeanism for the rapprochement and cooperation of all European peoples on a political, economic and cultural basis already in the 1930s.
The archival materials presented in the exhibition are also a special contribution to the cultural program during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
