The discussed topics included the current trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Japan and the opportunities for their development.
On the 21st of November 2016, in the Bulgarian Industrial Association a meeting with His Excellency Mr. Shinichi Yamanaka and the Second Secretary at the Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan to Bulgaria, Mr. Hitoshi Hatta was held.
The BIA was represented by Mr. Georgi Shivarov – Vice President, Mr. Kamen Kolev – Vice President, Mr. Dimiter Brankov – Vice President, Mr. Vesselin Iliev – Director General of the International Economic Relation Center, Mr. Kiril Jelyazkov – Director of the Branch Organizations department, Mr. Dobri Mitrev – Director of the Employers’ systems department and Mr. Alexander Iotzev – Director General of the Branch organizations department.
The discussed topics included the current trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Japan and the opportunities for their development. The Vice President of the BIA, Mr. Kamen Kolev presented the advantages of Bulgaria as a foreign investments destination, which include the low tax rates, the qualified work force in the IT sector and the growth of GDP – an indicator, which puts Bulgaria on the second place in the EU for the last quarter of the year.
Vice President Mr. Georgi Shivarov gave several examples for successful investment projects between Bulgaria and Japan and expressed the readiness of the BIA to cooperate in the establishment of business partnerships between the two countries.
The representatives of the Japanese delegation gave a solid declaration to help deepen the trade and economic relations between the two countries and emphasized on the need of joint scientific research. His Excellency Mr. Yamanaka shared that many Japanese scientists would like to cooperate with Bulgarian SMEs and scientists in the development of innovative production.
The BIA has made a commitment to collaborate with all the Japanese delegations, which are interested in the Bulgarian business and to help them by the organization of bilateral business meetings.
