Mr. Danev motivated his statement with the worldwide drastic decrease in prices of fuel and renewable energy sources.
“The low price of electricity, which NEK buys up and the high price of electricity from American plants are crushing the coal mining sector - this branch is totally doomed”, said Mr. Bojidar Danev - Executive President of the BIA in BNR’s “Nedelya 150”.
Mr. Danev motivated his statement with the worldwide drastic decrease in prices of fuel and renewable energy sources. According to the Montreal Protocol, by the year 2020 the existing price of 10 USD for a ton of CO2 emissions will go up to 50 USD/t, which will make the coal mining industry totally unprofitable.
“The government has to start planning what to do with all these workers and how to motivate them to transfer to other industries, how would they be retrained.” Mr. Danev said that the core of all this is the lack of reform in the energy sector.
