Executive President of the BIA, Mr. Bojidar Danev addressed a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva concerning the transfer of the head office of the European Medicines Agency in Bulgaria.

Executive President of the BIA, Mr. Bojidar Danev addressed a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva concerning the transfer of the head office of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Bulgaria. The reason for this proposal is the forthcoming exit of Great Britain from the EU. At the moment the EMA’s head office is located in London.

Mr. Danev points out that the EMA has around 900 employees and a lot of foreign pharmaceutical companies are located in London for the sake of being near this European inspection body. It can reasonably be expected that together with the dislocation of the EMA a lot of the biggest pharmaceutical companies would also move their head offices, which creates a serious number of opportunities for Bulgaria.
