National Council for Economy Policy was founded.
The Council will be a consultative body of BIA. That was decided by the participants in the General Assembly that was held in Thursday, 6 March 2008. The Council will be composed of representatives of the business and science area, as well as of different economic spheres; and is meant to assist the Board of Management with the actual economic development policies and purposes. The National Council for Economy Policy will be divided in three theme committees which will work on analytic and other documents on a specific policy. The Council is to be chosen with a 5-year mandate and its structuring and President Vote will be conducted within 2 months on a special meeting.
The delegates of the General Assembly voted and accepted the alterations in the BIA’s Statute according to which the members of the Board of Management of BIA are reduced from 80 to “not less than 15”; and the existing operative body of management – the Executive Board – is closed.

Bojidar Danev – Executive director of “Interlease” and President of BIA;
Valentin Zahariev – Executive director of “Intertrust Holding”;
Vassil Velev – President of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association;
Velitchko Aleksandrov – President of “ITA-Effect”;
Georgi Shivarov – Vice president of BIA;
Dikran Tebeyan – Vice president of BIA;
Ivan Boykov – Executive director of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber;
Kamen Kolev – Vice president of BIA;
Latchezar Tzotzorkov – President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Mining and Geology and Executive director of “Assarel-Medet”;
Orlin Hadzhiyankov – Executive director of “Holding Roads”;
Petar Denev – Secretary general of BIA ;
Radosvet Radev – Executive director of Darik Radio;
Sasho Dontchev – Executive director of Overgas Ink.;
Philip Rombaut – Managing director of “Agropolychim” – Devnya;
Stefan Szyszkowitz – Chairman of Managing board and Authorised Representative of EVN - Bulgaria Ltd;
For a president of the Board of Management was elected Bojidar Danev.
