Tensions around the secret auction of fertilizer plant Himko in the northwestern city of Vratsa escalate today. It turned out that besides Himko AD, Novo Himko AD has also a claim of ownership, Standart daily reports.
Novo Himko AD was originally created to rehabilitate the fertilizer plant and its liquidator Elin Topalov has asked the district court collateral of future claims of ownership, but then failed to pay the established warranty of 285,000 BGN. This is 1% of the value of the assets put up for sale.
As a result, the auction will be on March 19 as planned. However, at the same time it became clear that nobody has placed the required deposit of 2,855,245 BGN (the 10% of the initial price) to participate in the tender. The deadline was on this Monday.
The above information was not confirmed by the company, since the law prohibits leaking such information. However, a candidate may appear in the last moment if he pays the deposit plus the interests of the deposit for the two days delay (approximately 5,000 BGN).
Previously, there were rumors that the Bulgarian state may privatize the plant, which is of strategic importance in its region.
Himko suspended its production more than ten years ago. As a result of accumulating debts of over 130 million BGN, mainly to "Bulgargaz" and NEK, the company went bankrupt.
