Today, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Bulgarian Industrial Association was hold a formal meeting between representatives of Bulgarian Industrial Association Mr. Veselin Iliev, Director General of International Economic Relations Center and the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the People’s Republic of China in Bulgaria – Mr. Yuan Kehua, accompanied from Mr. Guo Ge and Mrs. Liu Jingjing, attaches in the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s office of China.
Veselin Iliev welcomed the guests and highly assessed the existing friendly relations between People’s Republic of China and expressed interest in deepening the international economic relations with China as an important strategic partner in the economic development of Bulgaria. "Our country gives priority to cooperation with China. There are already successfully implemented Chinese investments as production plants for cars, near Lovech, investments in agriculture and telecommunications "said Mr. Iliev.
Mr. Kehua argued that strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the both countries in all areas is consistent with the general trend of deepening relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Bulgaria. Priority sectors for expansion of bilateral cooperation are electronics and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive, car parts, agriculture, food industry, pharmaceutical industry, tourism and others.
Veselin Iliev made a brief presentation of the main objectives, vision, mission and activities of the Bulgarian Industrial Association and the International Economic Relations Center. He emphasized the serious efforts of the BIA to promote Chinese investments in Bulgaria, which are strategic and fundamental to the development of Bulgarian industry, agriculture, research and technology transfer.
BIA expressed readiness for support and partnership in future Chinese investment to create a joint Bulgarian-Chinese enterprises and praised the efforts of the Chinese government to promote Bulgarian exports and training opportunities for Bulgarian managers in China.
The Economic and Commercial Counselor pointed the good political situation in China, which provides opportunities for forcing the bilateral economic and trade relations and foreign investments in Bulgaria.
Mr. Kehua invited representatives of BIA and BIA’s member companies interested in Chinese market to take part in the upcoming Chinese-Bulgarian business forum in Plovdiv.
Considering the importance of China as a strategic political and trading partner for Bulgaria and the Bulgarian business BIA expressed readiness for cooperation and support to deepen the bilateral Bulgarian-Chinese relations and achievement of concrete results in the near future.
