On November 20, 2007 in Bulgaria arrived a business delegation of MEDEF International – French Business Confederation, which is a partner organization of BIA in the frames of BUSINESSEUROPE.
The head of the delegation is Mr. Morallion, President of “Central Europe” Committee - MEDEF International and chief advisor; Member of the Executive Committee of GIB de CALYON. Representatives from Gaz de France, Bouygues, Alstom Transport, Calyon, Saur and others are participants in the delegation.
The delegation was cordially welcomed by Mr. Shivarov – Vice President of BIA and Mr. Branimir Handjiev – Director General of International Projects and Organizations at BIA.
BIA’s activities and resources, as well as the investment climate and the conditions for realizations of joint projects in Bulgaria were introduced to the members of the French business confederation. The accent in the presentation of BIA was put on those activities of the organization, related to the improvement of the business climate in Bulgaria. The head of the delegation expressed a frank opinion, that he was impressed by the report of Mr. Danev – Chairman of BIA, devoted to the regulatory regimes, during the 10th Economic forum of CEI in National palace of Culture in Sofia.
In his statement, Mr. Morallion pointed out that this is not the first meeting between the both organizations and defined BIA , as a “close friend of MEDEF International in the frames of BUSINESSEUROPE” (the partnership relations between BIA and MEDEF International date from 1994). According to the head of the French delegation, BIA is the key organization, which will become a mediator in the relationship between Bulgarian and French companies.
In this context, during the meeting were discussed the opportunities for partnership between Bulgarian and French companies in joint participation on the structural funds of EU, which is a new point in the business relations between the both countries. The French companies showed a concrete interest for collaboration with Bulgarian partners, regarding a partnership in infrastructural projects. The both organizations agreed to undertake concrete steps in the preparation of programs by economic sectors with the aim to create direct connections between French and Bulgarian companies.
