DHL has created 150 new jobs with its new logistics base. Its project, which should be ready by November 2021, will cover an area of ​​12,309 square meters near Sofia Airport. The base is built over a ross-dock with an area of ​​800 m², an administrative part with an area of ​​1,200 m², and a storage room of 3,000 m². The company refused to disclose the exact amount of its investment in the new airport terminal but noted that it was for millions of leva.

Odelo Bulgaria has started the construction of its second plant in Bulgaria. Only a year after putting its first production facility into operation, the Turkish company announced it was laying the ground for a second plant. It will also be in the Kuklen zone near Plovdiv, part of the Thrace Economic Zone. According to the plan, it is supposed to "launch" in November this year, with more than 100 new jobs. Thus, the total number of employees in the company will reach 330. In addition to headlights for "Mercedes", the company also started mass production of "Dacia" headlights.

Gopet Trans expands activities in Varna. With 146 million Euro in revenue in 2019 and 400 employees, the company not only aims to become number one in Bulgaria but also to start expanding abroad. The company operates in 6 markets, has over 5 thousand clients, and moves more than 120 thousand annually at the moment. The company has one big advantage over most of its competitors - it operates with all 4 types of transport - road, rail, sea, and air.

The Aurubis Group is increasing its forecast for the financial year 2020/21. Expectations for an operating EBT are between EUR 270 and 330 million for the current fiscal year. At the beginning of the period, the multimedia company expected an operating EBT of between 210 and 270 million euros. For the metal refining and processing (MRP) segment, the Group expects an operating EBT of between EUR 300 and 380 million (previously: EUR 250 to 330 million). For the flat-rolled products (FRP) segment, the company now expects pre-tax operating profit of between € 14 million and € 22 million (previously: € 4 to € 12 million). Aurubis forecasts an operating return on capital employed (ROCE) of 9% to 12%, after the previous forecast of 8% to 11%.

Bosch Engineering Center has doubled and continues to expand in Sofia. At the official opening in 2019, the center employed nearly 200 software specialists, who are now nearly 400. By 2023, the company expects to exceed the target set 2 years ago for 500 engineers working on the team. The Center for Automotive Software Development in Sofia works closely with Bosch's development teams in Germany, the United States, Hungary, and Romania. The team is involved in the development of over 40 innovative projects and technologies for the automotive industry in areas such as driver assistance systems, automated driving, artificial intelligence, and electric mobility. In addition to software for cars and electric bicycles, the company is developing hardware in Sofia and establishing a mechanical department.

International Investment Company will spend BGN 26 million on a kitchen equipment company near Kyustendil. This will create an additional 40 jobs in the new automated factory. They use the technology of the main supplier - the German company IMA. Shelling Group GmbH, which will equip the entire production hall of the investor with innovative production technology for custom production“ under the Investment Promotion Act.

Interlink Group invests nearly BGN 40 million in a new plant near Plovdiv. At the end of March this year the first sod of a high-tech plant for aluminum profiles for window solutions and facades took place in the village of Radinovo, in the industrial zone "Maritsa", part of the Thrace economic zone. The amount of the investment amounts to BGN 39,705,000. The total area of ​​the terrain is 200,000 sq.m., a part of which the first enterprise of 22,500 sq.m. will be built by the summer of 2022. Initially, it will have an annual capacity 10,000 tons of aluminum profiles with wide architectural solutions. According to the plan, 3 more production and storage halls should be built next to the first plant within the coming 5-10 years. The company has a class "A" investment certificate under the Investment Promotion Act.

The American Yotpo, which bought the Bulgarian SMSBump in 2020, received an investment of 230 million dollars. There are a total of 500 startup businesses in the world, valued at over $ 1 billion, the so-called unicorns. From March 2021, they grew by another, with Bulgarian participation. The American company Yotpo received another investment and is already valued at over 1.4 billion dollars. The company is developing a marketing platform for e-merchants and has more than 400 employees and offices in New York, Boston, London, and Tel Aviv.

Biodit AD raised BGN 1 million per second during its IPO. The company debuted in early March with phenomenal success in the first initial public offering (IPO) of the BEAM growth market on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. In just a few seconds, the company raised the maximum allowed capital of BGN 1 million. The total number of issued subscription requests significantly exceeded the number of admitted 1,000,000 shares. The orders amounted to a total value of over BGN 2,500,000.

Lidl Bulgaria supported Bulgarian producers with exports worth nearly BGN 48 in 2020. Despite the crisis, Lidl Bulgaria managed not only to maintain the planned volumes but also to record over 20% growth in exports or 8 million more than in 2019. 38 Bulgarian producers have exported 153 different products in 2020 in 24 European countries, which shows a trend of increasing the number of exported items - over 30 more than in 2019 and the number of countries to which it exported. Italy and Spain are the new countries in which Bulgarian goods entered in 2020. Lidl Bulgaria is a TOP employer in 2021 for Bulgaria and Europe. For a second year, the company has been awarded by the international organization TOP Employers Institute, which annually awards companies with proven HR practices and policies.

For 15 years Kaufland Bulgaria has invested BGN 1.6 billion in site constructions, spending over BGN 100 million in the modernization of sites and energy-efficient equipment. They granted BGN 18 million for donations, incl. infrastructure. Started with 436 employees in Bulgaria, today the retail chain is the largest employer in the modern trade sector in Bulgaria, with a team of over 6,400 people. As an employer, during the last 15 years Kaufland Bulgaria has invested over BGN 890 million in salaries, BGN 139 million in social security contributions, BGN 4.4 million in the training of its employees, and BGN 34 million for bonuses. At the beginning of 2021, Kaufland Bulgaria opened its fifth hypermarket in Varna, investing BGN 33 million. The company has 60 shops across the country, with the new one in Varna being the most modern.
