The information campaign "Your choice matters" was launched at the beginning of February 2021, aimed at supporting Bulgarian producers and overcoming the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular - the decline in the exports of goods produced in Bulgaria for the past 2020.

The initiative is implemented by the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises, in partnership with the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria, and Bulgarian National Television.

"Your choice matters" is based on data that show the possibilities to compensate for the decline in exports for 8 categories, through joint actions of Bulgarian consumers, based on their choice of domestic products.

A series of video spots present the opportunities for supporting Bulgarian goods. The message is focused on data that show the possibilities for helping various Bulgarian producers:

If one in every 10 households buys Bulgarian furniture worth at least BGN 200, this will compensate for the decline in their exports for 2020.

  • If every second household buys an additional two bottles of Bulgarian wine during the year, this will compensate for the decline in exports in 2020.
  • If every third household buys one more Bulgarian chocolate per month, this will compensate for the decline in the export of chocolate products for 2020.
  • If every third household spends BGN 75 on shoes made in Bulgaria, this will compensate for the decline in their exports and 3,000 jobs will be preserved.
  • If one of five households buys one Bulgarian perfume product of 100 ml, this will compensate for the decline in their exports.
  • If every household in the country buys Bulgarian clothes worth BGN 60, this will compensate for the decline in their exports and will preserve 6,000 jobs.
  • If 6 out of 100 car drivers in Sofia choose to ride a Bulgarian bike, this will compensate for the decline in their exports in 2020.
  • If one of the eight households buys one toy made in Bulgaria, worth BGN 25, this will compensate for the decline in their exports.
