“With the fast entry of advanced technology and digitization a lot of professions are disappearing. New technology demands new type of job qualification. Today’s labor market seeks for a lot more people with hybrid skills, for example an employee with marketing skills and technology background”, said Mr. Tomcho Tomov - Director of the National Center for Competence Assessment at the BIA in Bloomberg TV Bulgaria’s “Business Start”.

According to Mr. Tomov there is a strong need for an educational reform, which turns today’s education from formal to informal, introduces new lifelong learning models and changes the way business and educational institutions interact.

“We have a serious problem with motivation and values. We don’t have high unemployment rates because of economic reasons, we have structural unemployment. Whole generations and communities are far beyond the labor market”, says also the expert.
