The Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission and the Energy Management Institute organise international conference “Regulatory Framework Harmonization in South East Europe”, which will  be held on 7th April 2016 in Sofia, Sofia Hotel Balkan, 5 Sveta Nedelya sq.р.

In the first day open debate, with the attendance of the representatives from various national, regional and EU institutions, energy regulatory agencies and organizations, Energy Community Regulatory Board, Bulgarian and foreign energy companies, NGOs, etc., we envisage to discuss:

  • The Energy Union legislative package and a subsequent challenges imposed to the energy regulators;
  • Forthcoming EU Summer Package:
    • New Energy Market Model
    • Consumer’s active role in the energy markets development
    • Upgraded EU ETS
  • Increased transparency in the context of the effective implementation of REMIT;
  • Flexibility and distributed generation;
  • Changed requirements and tasks before the regulators.

All indicated speakers have confirmed their participation. Thus, we shall benefit from the participation of the Bulgarian Energy Minister H.E. Mrs. Petkova,  the Chairman of the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Mr. Ivan Ivanov and other distinguished representatives of Bulgarian and foreign institutions. More than ten regulatory authorities from SEE have confirmed their attendance. A keynote speaker at the event will be Mr. Klaus-Dieter BORCHARDT, Director Internal Energy Market, DG ENER, EC. We shall be also privileged to welcome  Mr. Hans ten Berge, Secretary General of EURELECTRIC.
