Prof. Marin Hristov is a rector of the Technical University - Sofia. He is a member of the Board of BIA since April 25th, 2014. Prof. Hristov is born on November 15, 1949 in Pleven. Graduated from the Mechanical and Electrical Institute in Sofia (now Technical University - Sofia) in 1972. Specialized semiconductor devices and automated design in electronics in the UK, France, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Finland, Germany and others.
The main areas of his scientific research and teaching activity are: microelectronics, semiconductors, integrated circuits, automation of engineering in microelectronics. He is the author of over 400 scientific publications, 30 books and manuals. Head of more than 60 research projects and a supervisor of 18 PhD students (three of which - in France). In the scientific field, Prof. Hristov is known as a contractor and coordinator of joint projects under EU programs such as INCO COPERNICUS, Information Society Technologies programmes and others, since 1992.
From 1999 to 2011 he was a visiting lecturer at the following universities and scientific organizations: ENSEA and ESSIE (France), Oxford Brookes University, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, University of Glasgow (UK), Slovak University of Technology, Technical University of Tampere (Finland) and others.
